Pão de Ló liqueur is a tribute to one of Portugal's most iconic sweets. It combines notes of vanilla, caramel and spices, recreating the creaminess and sweetness of the traditional sponge cake, which is believed to have originated in Portuguese convents in the 17th century, when the nuns passed on the recipe for this convent cake.
