Our history

Chocolicor is a family business with more than 30 years of existence that has inherited a vast experience in the production of typically Portuguese liqueurs.

The company is located in the beautiful city of Caldas da Rainha, which is closely linked to the medieval town of Óbidos.

It was designed to stand out in the market not as a large-scale production company, but to focus on quality, innovation while maintaining traditional and sometimes even artisanal methods of producing liqueurs.

We strive for sustainable production and seek profitable production methods without over-industrializing, thus avoiding altering the final product.

We carefully select our raw materials, always looking to ensure that they comply with previously defined standards.

Our mission over these years is to produce well in order to satisfy our customers, create, innovate, reinvent authentic and genuine flavors of both Portuguese and international sweets. Today, the globalization of markets forces us to do so.

The company is not present in large distribution by choice, which guarantees our consumers and customers a unique standard of quality and exclusivity.

Maria Cristina Jambas was born in Better Castle, county of Vila Nova de Foz Coa, in the heart of the Douro Wine Region, soon followed with his family to Mussy-Sur-Seine, France, village classified in the zone AOC do champagne and where Bourgogne wines are produced, which allowed him to discover these two wine cultures as well as discover the rich "terroirs" existing in these locations.
He soon came into contact with this reality and soon became involved in the world of beverage production.

He returned to his birthplace at age 18 but headed to Lisbon where he graduated in Economic Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
In the course of her academic studies, she began her career as an employee in a liquor company where she stayed until 2005.
That year he accepted the challenge and together with an investor from Caldas da Rainha he created Chocolicor.

In 2006, that investor would cease to participate in the company and since then, Dr. Maria Cristina Jambas traces the destiny of Chocolicor, surrounded by a formidable team that supports her ideas.

The strong influence of French culture rooted in its personality is still predominant today both in the innovations it launches on the market as well as in the manufacturing methods, however it is in Portuguese sweets that have been inspired in recent years.
